Privacy Terms of use Prayer wall
Read this before you post. Everything you write on Amen is public. Anyone on the internet can read it without an account, and search engines can index it and keep their own copy. Nothing you post here is private, and a post is not a private message to a pastor or a counsellor.
A prayer request can say a lot about you. It can reveal your religion, an illness, a pregnancy, a court case, a job loss, a debt, or a family problem. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, information about health and religious belief is special category data and deserves extra care. Please do not post anything about your health, your money, or your family that you would not want a stranger, an employer, or an insurer to read next year.
You can pray for a real situation without naming it in full. Write "a health matter" instead of the diagnosis. Write "a family member" instead of the person's name. Do not post another person's health, finances or family business at all, because they did not agree to it.
Who runs Amen
Amen is run by Ranked Technologies Limited, RC 9522220, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. The company is the data controller for this site and is registered with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission under registration NDPC/DCP/14538.
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer yet. Until we do, every privacy question, request and complaint goes to support@ranked.ng and a person reads it.
Where your data is kept
Amen runs on our own machine, a Mac Studio in Istanbul, Türkiye. Your account and your posts are stored and processed there, not in Nigeria. We are telling you this before you sign up so you can decide.
The company is Nigerian and the processing happens in Türkiye, so under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 this is a cross-border transfer. The same company controls the site at both ends and the data does not leave our own server except as described on this page.
Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a network provider. It handles the encrypted connection between your browser and us, which means your request, including your IP address, passes through Cloudflare's global network before it reaches our machine. Cloudflare also adds a small script to our pages that hides the support email address from address scrapers, and your browser may send Cloudflare a report if a connection fails.
What we actually store
This is the real list, taken from the site's own database, not a general description of forums.
Your account
- The display name you chose and the email address you signed up with.
- Your password, stored only as a bcrypt hash. We cannot read it or recover it for you.
- The date you joined and the time you were last seen.
- Your notification and language preferences.
- A profile picture, only if you upload one. It is saved as a file on our server.
What you post
- The text of every prayer request, testimony and reply, with the time it was written and the time of any edit.
- The tags on it, the Amens you give and receive, and any report a member files about a post.
- If a moderator hides, edits or restores something, the record of who did it and when.
Sign in and technical records
- A session row for each sign in, which records the browser and device description your browser sends, known as the user agent.
- The database has a column for the IP address of a post and of a session. On this site those columns come through empty, because of how the site sits behind Cloudflare, so we are not building an IP history of who posted what. This is how it behaves today, not a promise we can enforce, and Cloudflare still sees your IP address as the network in front of us.
- Our web server keeps no access log. Access logging is switched off in its configuration.
Cookies
Amen sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising tag and no third party tracker on this site. Two cookies exist and both are needed for the site to work.

Both are marked Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite Lax, so they travel only over HTTPS and scripts on the page cannot read them.
The daily devotional and our use of AI
Today's word is drafted by ngpt-1, our own Nigerian language model. It runs on the same machine the site runs on, and the drafting script talks only to that model on the local machine and to this site. It is not OpenAI, not Google, not any hosted service, and no account or API key is involved.
No user content is sent to any third party AI service. Your prayer requests are not used as prompts, are not sent anywhere for processing, and are not part of any training run today. If that ever changes we will say so on this page and ask first.
Every draft the model writes is posted hidden and stays hidden until a human moderator reads it, corrects it and releases it. We keep the prompt and the raw model output for each day as a file on our server so there is a record of what the machine wrote and what a person changed.
Who else sees your data
- Everyone. Your posts and your display name are public by design. Search engines can index them.
- Cloudflare, as the network in front of the site, as described above.
- Our moderators, who can see and act on posts and reports.
- Nobody else. We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or churches. We do not run affiliate tracking.
The share button next to a discussion opens WhatsApp with the title and the link when you press it. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp unless you press it yourself.
We would hand over data if a Nigerian court or a lawful order required it, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden to.
How long we keep things
Posts stay on the site until you or a moderator remove them. Account records stay until the account is deleted. Session rows stay until they are cleared out.
We have not set up an automatic delete after a fixed number of months, so we are not going to claim a retention period we do not enforce. If we set one, this page will say what it is and from when.
Deleting your account, and what happens to your posts
There is no self service delete button on the site yet, so deletion is done by hand. Email support@ranked.ng from the address you registered with, say the display name you want removed, and say whether you want your posts removed too. We will act within 30 days.
Be clear about which of these you want, because they are different.
- Delete my account. The account record goes, and your email address, your password hash, your sign in sessions and your notifications go with it. Your prayer requests and replies stay on the site, but they lose the author, so they no longer carry your display name.
- Delete my account and my posts. We do both. We delete the discussions and replies you wrote as well as the account. Ask for this if the content itself is what you want gone.
- Delete one post. You can ask for a single prayer request to be removed without closing your account.
One honest limit. Once something has been public, other people may have copied it, quoted it or shared the link, and search engines may keep a cached copy for a while after we delete it. We can remove it from Amen. We cannot reach into anyone else's copy, and we cannot promise a search engine will forget it on a schedule. This is the strongest reason to think before you post.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, stop or restrict what we do with it, object to it, or hand it to you in a portable form. Write to support@ranked.ng and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
The site cannot send email at the moment. No mail relay is configured, so messages the software would normally send, including sign up confirmation and password reset, are written to a log file on our server instead of being delivered to you. That log file contains the address the message was meant for.
This means you should not expect a confirmation link or a reset link to arrive. If you are stuck at sign up or locked out, write to support@ranked.ng from a normal mail account and a person will sort it out. We will update this page when sending is switched on.
Security, and what we do not claim
The site runs on hardware we own and control, in a location only we have access to. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes.
We do not hold a security certification, we have not been audited, and there is no cyber insurance policy behind this site. There is also no off machine backup yet, so the data lives on that one server and on nobody else's cloud. We would rather tell you that than imply protection we do not have. Keep your own copy of anything you would hate to lose.
Children
Amen is meant for adults. Please do not create an account if you are under 18, and please do not post a child's health details or photograph. If you believe a child has posted or has been written about here, tell us at support@ranked.ng and we will take it down.
Changes to this page
If what we do changes, we change this page and change the date below. The things most likely to change are email sending, backups and a retention period, and each of those will be written here before it goes live.
